Abstract

The level structure of 52Mn has been investigated by the 50Cr( 3He, p) 52Mn and 54Fe(d, α) 52Mn two-nucleon transfer reactions. A total of 29 levels was excited by the (d, α) reaction up to 3.9 MeV. For the ( 3He, p) reaction, angular distributions of eight levels below 5.5 MeV were measured. A ground-state Q-value of 5.159±0.015 MeV was determined for the (d, α) reaction. The isobaric analogue of the 52Cr ground state was identified as the E x = 2.95 MeV level, thus yielding a Coulomb displacement energy of ΔE C = 8.436±0.025 MeV. The level structure of 52Mn is discussed, and the results are compared with the calculated level scheme.
