Abstract

This study of 80 virgin, 40 sexually active non-orgastic, and 40 sexutally active orgastic college girls supports the previously reported low positive relationship between virginity and predicted marital happiness as well as predicted sexual adjustment. Among the non-virgins there was little difference in the marital happiness or sexual adjustment scores of the orgastic and non-orgastic girls. It is suggested that specific sexual attitudes and experiences are more promising in discriminating the orgastic from the non-orgastic groups than are global personality factors.
