Abstract

The functional involvement of the affinity binding of leukotriene C 4 in human red blood has been investigated. It was demonstrated that LTC 4 reduced erythrocyte deformability at low concentrations. This effect is highly specific. The possible role of this leucocyte metabolite in hemorheological disturbances including RBC deformability is suggested
