Infection may stimulate blood changes which would be regarded as leukemic by all but the most cautious of hematologists. It has also been noted that infection can cause the leukemic blood and marrow pictures to revert almost to normal. There is no proof, however, that infection can either give rise to or cure true leukemia.The infection about which most has been written concerning its relation to leukemia is undoubtedly tuberculosis.
