Abstract

Leucine-enkephalin-like immunoreactive (ENK-LI) afferent fibers to the feline homologue of the Onuf's nucleus (pudendal motoneurons) originate mainly from lamina X of the sacral cord. They make synaptic contacts chiefly upon dendrites of pudendal motoneurons; the synaptic terminals most often contain pleomorphic synaptic vesicles and occasionally round synaptic vesicles. Large-cored vesicles in the axon terminals within the Onuf's nucleus often showed ENK-LI.
