Abstract

For my peace of mind (and for the readers of Pediatrics) I fervently hope that Dr Grossman can demonstrate that my fears are groundless and my criticism unjustified. But we will need more than the bland assurances he makes in his letter. I will be looking for something in the nature of an "environmental impact report" to document his implied claim that all is well in perinatal-land. Present-day actions in this field of medicine create public policy—unreviewed and unlegislated.
