Abstract

In the article one of dramatic pages opens up in history of catholic church in Belarus in a post-war period. Soviet power carried out closing and elimination of churches. However atheistic politics that was conducted by violent methods met resistance of believers. The legal forms of such fight were letters, complaints, appeals in higher party, soviet instances, legislative bodies, to the high state and party figures. It is shown on certain material, as believers protected churches from elimination, required to return sacred objects to religious communities. Often this fight lasted by decades. Unfortunately, not always her results were positive. The documents of archives of Belarus and Russia are used in the article.
