Abstract

(Obstet Gynecol. 2022;139:693. doi: 10.1097/AOG.0000000000004740) This article comments on “Management of Placental Transfusion to Neonates After Delivery” by McAdams and Lakshminrusimha. While the article was interesting, it does not sufficiently support the conclusions made. The authors concluded that the practice of delayed umbilical cord clamping is beneficial for preterm and term neonates, yet the article only supports preterm delayed cord clamping. Statements regarding delayed umbilical cord clamping for late preterm and term neonates requires further support and evidence-based research.
