Abstract

We read with great interest the manuscript written by Kida et al. [1]. In that study, Kida et al. investigated the role of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on magnetic resonance images (MRI) in predicting left ventricular reverse remodeling in patients with nonischemic cardiomyopathy treated with carvedilol. Thirty one patients with NICM were included and grouped according to LGE on MRI and followed for 6months. They found that absence of LGE on MRI was predictor of improved left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular reverse remodeling.
