The SciencesVolume 21, Issue 7 p. 8-10 LETTER FROM GORKY Andrei Sakharov, Andrei Sakharov Andrei Sakharov, senior scientist at the USSR Academy of Sciences' Institute of Physics, was exiled to the closed city of Gorky last year. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1975.
