To the Editor: Carotid artery stenting (CAS) has emerged as an alternative to carotid endarterectomy (CEA) for the management of carotid artery stenosis. Several randomized trials have compared the outcomes of the 2 methods for the management of both symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis without reaching any solid conclusions.
