Abstract

To the Editor: We read with great interest the study by Park et al,1 demonstrating in a large series of patients undergoing elective coronary stenting for unprotected left main disease that interventions performed with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) guidance (756 patients) had a lower long-term mortality compared with those with angiographic-guidance alone (219 patients). This study is timely because percutaneous treatment of patients with unprotected left main disease is increasingly being considered but still remains a major challenge.2,3 However, we will appreciate if some issues are addressed.
