Abstract

Medicine is no longer a simple duet between patient and physician, but something closer to a symphony—a complex architecture in which many components must work harmoniously. At different times, one or the other section carries the melody, but the essence of the symphonic form is large scale, balance, complementarity in theme and harmony, and variation in tempo from one time, or movement, to another.1
