Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic poses a unique set of challenges for researchers, particularly the researcher working with people. With the new rule of one-meter distance, it is hard to conduct face-to-face discussions. The alternative is shifting to online mode. A large number of online asynchronous data collections are being taking place and the experience is shared. However, very little work is done in synchronous online data collection. This paper presents the steps taken to shift from the face to face mode to an online mode. Future researchers could use the lessons presented in this paper to improve productivity in conducting online data collection. Furthermore, recommendations for online service providers would help them to improve their services. The improved services make online deliberations and data collection more effective and efficient. Additionally, this paper presents how to overcome the challenges in conducting a data collection process in local languages.
