This injury is often associated with the rupture of the soleus muscle or the plantaris muscle, as well as deep vein thrombosis. We present the case of a professional basketball player with a history of Achilles tendonitis and retrocalcaneal bursitis, who had a “tennis leg” associated to a partial rupture of the Achilles tendon.
