Abstract
This article analyses four works by Fatou Diome (La préférence nationale, 2001; Le ventre de lʼAtlantique, 2005; Impossible de grandir, 2013; Marianne porte plainte !, 2017) which thematically target the exile of narrator Salie, the author’s double. The aim is to order the abundant textual material through literary, sociological and anthropological notions, without ignoring the surplus of literature, which shows the way. The hypothesis will consist in revealing the didactic virtues of the pamphlet (2017), in contrast to fictional narratives that are not very performative. Methodologically, the analysis will go from the constellations of cosmopolitanism to an alternationalist education, through the figures of the foreigner and hospitality, and the question of identity.
