Abstract

The job of the managerial staff, including the headmasters has evolved considerably in the educational system and still has to evolve. Have their mode of management by the central administration and its external departments adapted to these evolutions ? The dimension of the pool of recruitment, the modes of access to the function (competitive exams essentially), the contents and strategies of their training, the rules and conditions of their appointments, their guidance, their follow-up, the status of their "words" ; have all these aspects of their professional situation been considered according to the important role which they are expected to play in the units of the educational system, so as to make their mission clearer, their action more efficient and make the best of the human resource they represent ?
