Abstract
The composition of acid-soluble nucleotides in the thyroid gland of ox and sheep was studied by anion exchange chromatography and paper chromatography. No important qualitative and quantitative difference was found between the glands of the two species. The nucleotides: cytidine-5′-monophosphate, diphosphopyridine nucleotide, adenosine-5′-monophosphate, triphosphopyridne nucleotide, guanosine-5′-monophosphate, inosine-5′-monophosphate, uridine-5′-monophosphate, adenosine-5′-diphosphate, guanosine-5′-diphosphate, uridine-5′-diphosphate, adenosine-5′-triphosphate, guanosine-5′-triphosphate, and the conjugated nucleotides: uridine diphosphate-N-acetylglucosamine, uridine diphosphate-N-acetylgalactosamine, uridine diphosphate galactose, guanosine diphosphate mannose have been identified.
