Abstract

Summary. - The main period of activity of the mint of Evreux is 1359-1360. All royal types of this period were imitated. The imitations are very close to the prototypes; the name and the title of Charles were voluntarily blundered in order to make them look like the prototypes. The issue marks were reproduced, showing that Charles' moneyers got direct information from the royal mints. No production accounts have survived. Hoard evidence shows that the production was reduced. Charles' coins circulated all over the Kingdom.
