Abstract

Abstract. - The Kalenjin people of Kenya likes to remind us that they are a minority group. Still president D. Arap Moi, a Kalenjin, has been in power for the last 25 years. The invention of a Kalenjin tribe is related to a territorial claim (both for land and an administrative unit) on the Rift Valley province. Kalenjin minority tribes have come up with numerous land and administrative claims during the Kalenjin rule, and in turn threaten the tribe's unity.
