Abstract

Children's games among the Gbaya. After a brief presentation of children's situation in gbayaland, from birth to adulthood, the author introduces the games and their place during childhood and adolescence. She distinguishes the games of the very small children which seek to consulate them attracting their attention, those of the children some of which are a way to get the ability for adult's work (hunting for boys and cooking for girls), then the games of the evening which concern first of all the adolescents. All theses games constitute a varied repertoire which shows the priviledged status of children in this culture.
