Abstract

The main purpose of this thesis is to highlight the main characteristics of five structures involving complements of perception verbs; namely, that-clauses, relatives, infinitivals, inf participials and adjunct clauses in french in order to understand how their formal properties, i. E syntactic - correlate with their meaning and functional use; i. E. Their semantic and pragmatic import. In particular, the study has sought to look, systematically, at their common propreties as well as the peculiarities of each. The latter aspect has implied that the overall approach is based on a lexico-semantic and syntactic study of the verbs controlling such complement structures.
