Abstract

SUMMARY This article has three aims. Following the general themes of Catalan history discussed at the ICHRPI conference in Barcelona, it establishes the chronology of the medieval assemblies in Valencia (Cortes, Parlamentos) and their typologies, and proposes a catalogue that allows them to be localized. Such an exercise is absolutely necessary as a precursor to more detailed research leading to a virtual library of the assemblies and parliaments of Valencia. This library could be developed to complement other publishing projects being carried out at present in other states of the same kingdom (Cerdeñla, Aragon, Catalonia), whose ultimate objective is to facilitate specific research of this kind and to compare it with other similar institutions which had developed in Europe in order to place them in context.
