Lens wear adaptation in neophytes wearing monthly replacement soft lenses

Abstract

Purpose: Many eye care professionals (ECP’s) still advocate a gradual adaptation to lens wear in neophyte soft contact lens wearers, however this approach has limited supportive evidence. This study aimed to ascertain whether this adaptation period, given modern advancements in soft lens materials, was necessary for monthly disposable soft contact lenses, in both hydrogel and silicone hydrogel materials.
