Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the length-weight relationship and condition factor of Udang Kelong, White shrimp, Penaeus merguiensis in West Aceh waters, Indonesia. The sampling was conducted in May 2018 in Ujung Baroh Fish landing site, West Aceh District. We used a purposive sampling method by using mini trawl. A total of 55 shrimps consisted of 30 males and 25 females were found. The carapace length of male and female shrimp ranged from 2.38 to 6.59 cm and 2.87 to 6.58 cm. Body weight of male and female shrimp ranged from 2.4 to 28.09 g and 3.16 to 29.98 g. The statistic analysis showed that male and female shrimps belonged to isometric growth pattern. The correlation coefficients value expressed that both male and female showed a very strong relationship between length carapace and body weight (> 90%). The shrimp condition factor was ranged from 0.104 – 0.116.
