Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper is a reflection on leisure during COVID-19 in Hong Kong and Israel. It is based on observation and organized around four themes: shift to home-based pursuits, actions triggered by self-reflection, turning connectivity to connectedness, and solidarity in times of uncertainty. Similar patterns of behaviour were identified in the two places including modification to leisure pursuits in light of imposed restrictions and manifestation of volunteering activities to support those in need. Recommendations are made to study the sustainability of these leisure pursuits in post-pandemic times.
