Abstract
The authors report 9 cases of visceral leishmaniasis in HIV-infected patients. Clinical manifestations were often atypical with unusual localizations of Leishmania in 2 cases. The effect of classical therapy was poor. The authors consider Leishmania infantum as an opportunistic agent in HIV infected immunocompromised bosts.
