Abstract

Leiomyoma of the urinary bladder is a rare benign urological disease. Its clinical symptoms depend mainly on the size, location, or associated urinary tract obstruction. Herein, we report a 24-yr-old female who was admitted with the chief complaints of painless gross total hematuria and dysuria. A series of studies was done which revealed normalfindings except for a mass lesion in the bladder. Cystoscopy revealed a non-papillary tumor on the anterior wall near the bladder neck. Transurethral resection of the bladder tumor was performed. The final clinicopathological diagnosis was leiomyoma of the urinary bladder. So far, this patient has been regularly followed at our out-patient clinic with a stable condition. The literature is reviewed.
