Abstract

Benign tracheal tumors are rare but important to recognize early because they are curable. A 70-year-old man had a brief history of asthma-like symptoms. Bronchoscopy showed a mass in the lower trachea. The biopsy specimen was interpreted as a benign spindle cell tumor, defined histologically as leiomyoma. This appears to be the 11th report of tracheal leiomyoma.
