Abstract

The article examines the legal regulation of ensuring the national interests of Russia in the scientifi c fi eld in the light of changes in the system of international relations in the second decade of the XXI century . The purpose of the study is to identify the components of the legal support of Russia’s national interests in the implementation of scientifi c and technical partnership within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization ( hereinafter - SCO). The concept of Russia’s national interests is defi ned , the content of these interests in the scientifi c sphere , as well as in the framework of partnership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization space , is revealed . The authors conclude that there is an increasing need to shift the emphasis from openness and lack of control to the priority protection of national interests . It seems that the international legal regulation of these issues is in the process of formation , proposals are being put forward for its improvement , in particular , it is possible to refer to the experience of the Commonwealth of Independent States , within which a number of agreements on scientifi c cooperation of states and ensuring their national interests have been adopted and are in force .
