Abstract

This study analysed the effectiveness of a legal studies program in improving the legal knowledge of twelve EMR adolescents in a special school. All of the students were pre and post tested on B Legal Studies Knowledge Test (LSKT). A three week follow-up test was also administered. The results indicated a significant increase in legal knowledge from the pre to post test. Students' retention levels declined from post to follow-up test. However, an analysis of the data, from pre to follow-up test revealed a significant gain in legal knowledge. From the results of the study it was argued that legal studies programs have an important place in the special school curricula.
