Abstract

The purpose of this article is to educate physicians as to the legal aspects of medical practice so that they are better prepared to defend themselves in a lawsuit based on allegations of medical malpractice. Due to the high cost of medical care, patients have high expectations ofthe medical care that they receive. The quality of the physician-patient relationship has an effect on whether the patient considers the physician’s fees as being excessive. If a physician had taken time to develop a satisfactory relationship with his patients, those patients are less apt to consider his fees excessive. Malpractice Defined
