Abstract

Left ventricular(LV) rupture is a serious and fatal complication after mitral valve replacemen(MVR)surgery, with high mortality rate. Once it occurs, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) should be established quickly, but it is more important to take effective preventive measure during and after operation. The clinical data of a patient with left ventricular posterior wall rupture after mitral valve replacement in our department were analyzed.The patient died of ineffective rescue.The study to investigate the risk factors and preventive strategies of left ventricular rupture after mitral valve replacement.
