Left lower apical segmentectomy after video-assisted left upper lobectomy for relapse in lung cancer: benefit to avoid completion pneumonectomy

Abstract

Segmental resection is a useful procedure to preserve respiratory function. We report a case of lower apical segmentectomy for relapse after initial video-assisted left upper lobectomy to avoid completion pneumonectomy. After 4years of follow-up, the patient is doing well with no evidence of disease.
