Abstract

Studies showing different processing styles or biases for the two cerebral hemispheres often confound stimulus qualities with task requirements. A letter matching task avoids this problem [5–7] by using the same stimuli for two task strategies that differentiate hemisphere advantage. We have confirmed these findings in a similar paradigm, but also find that the sexes do not contribute equally to the effect.
