Abstract

These lectures are about the comparison of Regge theory (and folklore) with experiment.The first lecture surveys the properties of Regge-pole exchange amplitudes, and the places where simple pole dominance seems to fail. The second deals with Regge cuts, various prescriptions for calculating them, and what experiments are helpful. The third is about finite energy sum rules, their use to predict high energy scattering, and some problems with asymptopia. Duality and the Veneziano model are omitted, to avoid double-counting (see Kugler’s lectures).
