Abstract

The concept of human capital addresses the added value that employees make to an organization. Human capital is one of the most important elements of intangible assets in universities. Therefore, universities must improve the quality of human resources in facing challenges in order to achieve the university's vision and mission. In this study, using qualitative methods, there are three data validity tests that have been carried out, namely data triangulation, method triangulation, and theory triangulation. To get quality human resources, the process can be done by planning, organizing, directing, and developing. Based on the results of interviews with core informants and supporting informants, it was found that the use of technology in the operational process was still not optimal, there’s a lack of support, supervision, and dissemination of the implementation and objectives of the As-Syafi’iyah Islamic University's (UIA) vision and mission, and the training budgeting has not been made at the beginning of the year and was only submitted if there was training. In the case of lecturer development, it was found that there was a lack of control and approach from the leader. However, there are many lecturers who have a long period of work and remain in service in the UIA because it is based on sincerity to worship the God Almighty even though the welfare of lecturers is still lacking.
