Lecture Demonstrations in Sound

Abstract

For the past three years the National Science Foundation has supported at the Naval Academy a summer short course in lecture demonstrations in physics. This short course is intended to acquaint teachers with lecture demonstrations available for use in introductory physics courses. The demonstrations to be shown have been selected from a lecture on sound which has been given by invitation at a number of institutions. Many of the demonstrations are appropriate for use in an introductory acoustics course.
