Abstract

ABSTRACTtectotypes are designated for Cailiphora pubescens Macquart 1851 and Calliphora testaceifacies Macquart 1851. Matching populations are identified for both, in eastern mainland Australia and in Tasmania, respectively. Full descriptions and illustrations of the terminalia of the male and female of C. pubescens and of the male of C. testaceifacies are given. In an appendix attention is drawn to errors in earlier publications regarding the Australian sojourn of J. P. Verreaw, the collector of Macquart's specimens.
