Abstract

Bern, Burgerbibliothek, Cod. 354 is an important 13th century manuscript, which contains fabliaux, short texts, a prose version of Sept sages de Rome and Chrétien’s Perceval. It was owned by several humanists, notably Henri Estienne. The MS features several marginalia from the 15th and 16th centuries that allow us to retrace the history of these readings: the study of the connections between the passages underlined or glossed and Estienne’s opus shows its use by the Parisian humanist, especially for his works in the field of linguistics.
