Abstract
Abstract. Stellate maculopathy is a symptom of optic disc edema due to inflammatory papillitis. As a rule, it never occurs in cases of disc edema due to raised intracranial pressure. The terminology of neurogenic stellate maculopathy is suggested because the causal lesion is located at the level of the maculopapillary nerve fibers.
