Abstract

This article argues that the time has come for business school educators to take up the challenge of teaching about spirituality in management courses. The authors’ focus is not on spirituality per se but on the process of learning to learn about spirituality. They introduce a categorization (i.e., typology) of approaches toward spiritual development and provide a classroom exercise to help students develop their critical analysis skills and use categorization as a method to discover their spiritual paths. The authors’ focus is on an instructional process that enables students and teachers to discover their unique ideas about spirituality and its numerous developmental pathways.
