Abstract

Reflective practice has been developing as an important concept in health care and other disciplines over the last two decades. The importance of reflective practice and reflection are frequently noted in the literature, and reflective practice is regarded as an essential element in professional development. Researchers felt that it is important to assess the perceptions of students on reflection, as Gibb's model of reflection was a new concept to them. Our aim was to assess the perception and attitude of third year General nursing students of Salalah Nursing Institute on reflection and reflective practice. A descriptive study using a self administered questionnaire on perception on reflection was done. Findings revealed that students have a positive attitude towards reflective practice and reflection.
