Abstract

This paper can be divided into two main parts. In the first the socio-politic and economic background against which training for women is provided is considered and new approaches to education and training are discussed. These new approaches are a consequence of developments in both information and communication technologies and the theory of learning. The disadvantages, such as the likelihood of underresourcing and poor pay and working conditions for the teaching or teaching support staff, as well as the advantages, such as increased flexibility, of these new approaches are presented. In the second part two projects for providing training for women are discussed.
