Abstract

As experiential learning has come to the fore in learning theory so it is important that we begin to understand religious experience within this framework. In this paper, learning is regarded as both experiential and existential and it is argued that we can locate our religious experiences within such a learning theory—but it is emphasized that we have to reach beyond cognitive learning in order to relate religious experience and other forms of experience to learning theory.
