Abstract

This study aims to develop virtual experiment-based learning media on circular motion material. The research method used is the method of research and development (Research and Development) with the ADDIE development research model. The research was conducted through the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate stages. The results of this development research are physics learning media based on virtual experiments on the concept of circular motion. The study was conducted at SMA N 3 Tangerang involving two randomly selected class of 10 science. Virtual experiment-based learning media has gone through the validation test stage by media experts, material experts, and learning experts. The validation test was carried out using a questionnaire instrument with a Likert scale. The results of data analysis showed that the average percentage of validation according to material experts was 82.06%, learning experts was 83.48%, and media experts were 84.08%. In addition, learning media based on virtual experiments have been carried out by small group trials and field trials which respectively obtained a percentage of 87.26% and 84.38%; While the media effectiveness test data was carried out through the instrument of critical thinking skills and used as a pre-test and post-test assessment of students. Based on the data analysis, it was found that there was an increase in students' pretest and post-test scores. Through the N-Gain test, it was obtained a value of 0.505 with a moderate interpretation. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the virtual experiment-based learning media got a very good predicate to be used as a supporting medium in physics learning activities on circular motion material. In addition, virtual experiment-based learning media has proven effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.
