Abstract

Lucette (Loulou) Lagnado is an investigative journalist for The Wall Street Journal, and from her memoirs much can be learned about self–employment, small business, and entrepreneurship. She counts among the almost one million Jewish persons who have been ethnically cleansed from Muslim countries during the past 65 years; the stories of these refugees are little known. In her books, Lagnado recounts a typical true story and also teaches the reader about enterprise and livelihood in pre–revolutionary Egypt, and beyond.
