Abstract

The Talmudic sages used stories as a method to teach ethics and morality. Unlike cases, stories have the ability to arouse passion and teach important lessons. The sages would use biblical figures such as Abraham and Moses and even God, Elijah the prophet, and Satan in their stories to make them memorable.
