Abstract
Participation in everyday occupations is vital for all humans and has a positive influence on health. This focus is endorsed in the World Health Organisation's International Classif ication of Functioning, Disability and Health (2001) and is enshrined in the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) revised Definition of Occupational Therapy (2004). Enabling and enhancing participation in daily occupations is occupational therapy's unique contribution to society (Law, 2002).
