Abstract

An ever‐growing number of students who present with a diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) seek accommodations ranging from extended testing time and attendance flexibility to deadline extensions and roommate‐free rooms. Although Section 504 requires that disability services providers give each accommodation request individualized consideration through the interactive process, it does not require providers to grant accommodations simply because a health care provider has supplied a GAD diagnosis.
